Collective Commentary about the New Package Travel Directive

New Package Travel Act in Slovakia 1 Monika Jurčová 2 ABSTRACT : The Directive on Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements is applicable under the Package Travel Act effective from 1 January 2019, in Slovakia. The paper points out the positive impact of the new legal regulation addressing the numerous problems and questions relating to the previous legal regulation. The attempt of the legislator to tackle new forms of tourism organisation and contracting in the travel industry brings about also the flexible definition of ways to conclude a package travel contract and to create package travel. The paper deals with issues of parties to contract, obligations and responsibilities for providing package travel in the new legal regulation.
