678 SUSTAINABLE TOURISM LAW VI. STUDY SHOWS POSITIVE IMPACT OF CST With the objective of analysing the impact that the CST has generated in the tour operator and lodging companies after its certification, the ICT Sustainability Department developed an investigation that shows multiple benefits and a very positive impact, as perceived by these companies. The study evaluated 65 hotels and 29 certified tour operators in areas such as basic services, products, production and business. More than 50% of the companies presented a decrease in the consumption of water and energy, they also increased their consumption of environmentally friendly products and fostered the reforestation of native species, in tandem with efforts to create a better waste management and use clean energy, which allows greater international recognition and customer satisfaction. The following table details the percentage of companies with a positive response to the question posed on whether the CST has had an impact (YES or NO).
