Collective Commentary about the New Package Travel Directive

1120 COLLECTIVE COMMENTARY ABOUT THE NEW PACKAGE TRAVEL DIRECTIVE The Portuguese legislator was, in essence, conditioned by the agreement between the two major associations, APAVT and DECO, converting the solutions presented to him into law, and not acting as an attentive and equidistant arbitrator of the various interests in place. The main losers are the travellers and SMEs, plus travel service providers such as airlines, hotels and other tourism companies, which are forbidden from combining travel services, with consequent severe losses for these companies and consumers who, surprisingly, are deprived by the Portuguese law of this offer.
