1238 COLLECTIVE COMMENTARY ABOUT THE NEW PACKAGE TRAVEL DIRECTIVE Article 7 The organizer and/or retailer party to the contract shall provide sufficient evidence of security for the refund of money paid over and for the repatriation of the consumer in the event of insolvency. Article 8 Member States may adopt or return more stringent provisions in the field covered by this Directive to protect the consumer. Article 9 1. Member States shall bring into force the measures necessary to comply with this Directive before 31 December 1992. They shall forthwith inform the Commission thereof. 2. Member States shall communicate to the Commission the texts of the main provisions of national lawwhich they adopt in the field governed by this Directive.
