Collective Commentary about the New Package Travel Directive

46 COLLECTIVE COMMENTARY ABOUT THE NEW PACKAGE TRAVEL DIRECTIVE Commentary, being three out of the ten my colleagues: Vincenzo Franceschelli, Alessandra Corrado and Sara d’Urso. The University of Milano-Bicocca was also involved in the formation of the Study Group, whose members meet annually in Lisbon. Up to now, the group has published, in 2017, The New Package Travel Directive and, in 2018, Sustainable Tourism Law, a collective work that was appreciated by the World Tourism Organization. And once again, a professor of our University is one of the editors of these volumes. Commentary is the third product of said Study Group, coordinated by Prof. Carlos Torres, professor at the Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies. The book published this year presents an attentive commentary of the articles of the Directive to both the scientific community and the tourism industry. The EU Directive 2302/2015, being a Directive, must be implemented by the legislators of the single Member States. Also, in this aspect, this work shows the international cooperation that this book represents. In fact, the analysis of the Directive’s implementation on the various European Member States is made by scholars of juridical tradition of the various Member States. The University of Milano-Bicocca is committed to international cooperation, and I am sure that this excellent result in Tourism Law will grow in the future in the other aspects of Tourism.
