JAVIER MELGOSA ARCOS 57 is less than 500 metres, one way, on excursion and sightseeing tours other than cruises, and 3) ships not propelled by mechanical means as well as original, and individual replicas of historical passenger ships, designed before 1965, built predominantly with the original materials, certified to carry up to 36 passengers. The regulation establishes a series of rights for users, among which we can highlight: minimum information to be provided to passengers, non- -discrimination in contractual conditions, assistance and re-routing, including the reimbursement in the event of cancellation or delay departures. It also makes provision for the request for partial compensation of the ticket price in the event of delay in arrival and priorities for disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility. f ) Bus transport passengers. Bus passengers in the EU are protected by Regulation (EU) No. 181/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 16 February 2011, concerning the rights of passengers in bus and coach transport , all passengers should be granted a minimum level of protection, since they are the weaker party on the transport contract. The Regulation establishes the rules as regards to the following: a) non-discrimination between passengers with regard to transport conditions offered by carriers: b) rights of passengers in the event of accidents arising out of the use of the bus or coach resulting in death or personal injury or loss of or damage to luggage; c) non-discrimination and mandatory assistance for disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility; d) rights of passengers in cases of cancellation or delay; e) minimum information to be provided to passengers; f ) handling of complaints; and g) general rules on enforcement. Regarding the scope of application, this Regulation applies to passengers travelling with regular services, for non-specified categories of passengers, where the boarding or the alighting point of the passengers is situated in the territory of a Member State, and where the scheduled distance of the service is 250 km or more (although there is also provision for shorter distances). This Regulation shall also apply, with some nuances, to passengers travelling with occasional services where the initial boarding point or the final alighting point of the passenger is situated in the territory of a Member State. For a maximum period of 4 years from the date of application of this Regulation, Member States may, on a transparent and non-discriminatory basis, be exempt from its application, but such exemptions may be renewed once. The Member States shall have to inform the Commission.
