The Legal Impacts of COVID-19 in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Industry

Temporary Measures in Economy The Government has prepared a package of temporary measures intended to mitigate the negative effects of the COVID-19 crisis on the economy. The package includes, inter alia , deferred tax payments, support for the preservation of jobs and a moratorium on the payment of loans to development and commercial banks. Among other things, the measures include the securing of loans for liquidity and working capital and the establishment of a new financial instrument, the COVID-19 loans for working capital for small and medium enterprises. Finally, the measures apply to all departments in which there is a need for intervention, including the tourist and hospitality sectors. 3.1. Temporary Measures in the Tourist Sector The Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian Government have introduced special measures for the tourist sector, in order to ease the financial impact of the pandemic and alleviate its survival throughout the business year, touristic or otherwise.
