Holidaymakers mostly chose homesteads located by the lakes (Department of Statistics of the Republic of Lithuania, 2018) 6 . The status of a resort is granted in accordance with the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Resolution No. 350 “Regarding the description of the requirements for granting the status of a resort to residential areas, the description of the requirements for granting the status of a resort area to residential areas and the rules for granting the status of a resort or resort area to residential areas and revocation”. There are four resorts in Lithuania (Birštonas, Druskininkai, Neringa, Palanga) and the following five resort territories: Anykščiai, Trakai, Zarasai, territories of Strigailiškis and Palūšė villages of Ignalina and territories of Kulautuva, Kačerginė towns and part of Zapyškis town (Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, 2021). 6. Legal Regulation of Guides’ Activities According to the Law on Tourism of the Republic of Lithuania, a guide is a natural person who meets the requirements of the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and has a guide certificate and provides special information on museums, art galleries, nature, culture, science, exhibitions or other objects or places (Article 2 of the Law on Tourism of the Republic of Lithuania). The description of the procedure for issuing and revoking a guide certificate and the form of the guide certificate shall be approved by the Minister of Economy and Innovation (Article 28 of the Law on Tourism of the Republic of Lithuania).
