f) Accommodation services provider The provision of accommodation is a field of unqualified trade under the Trade Act. The name of the relevant field of unqualified trade is: accommodation services. A trade licence for the operation of this field of unqualified trade may be granted to anyone who meets the general conditions for the operation of a trade, i.e. the conditions of clean criminal record and legal capacity. No other prerequisites are required. An accommodation provider may provide accommodation in all accommodation facilities (e.g. a hotel, motel, campsite, common lodging house) and in residential buildings, private homes and structures for family recreation. Save for certain exceptions, this field of trade does not comprise the preparation and provision of meals. g) Catering provider Food is inherently linked with tourism. Preparation and serving of meals in a professional establishment is a professional trade according to the Trade Act. The name of the trade is: inn-keeping activities. A trade licence for the operation of this trade may be granted to anyone who meets the general and special conditions for operating this trade. The general conditions are a clean criminal record and legal capacity. Furthermore, the entrepreneur must appoint his/her “responsible representative”. This is a person who has attained education in the given field or related field and has experience in catering services. Within this trade, the operator may – along with the sale of food – also provide accommodation in all accommodation facilities (e.g. a hotel, motel, campsite, common lodging house) and in residential buildings, private homes and structures for family recreation. h) Spas Spas are important tourist facilities in the Czech Republic. What spas are, who declares facilities as spas and what their duties are in terms of conservation and utilisation of natural medicinal sources and natural mineral waters are regulated by Act No. 164/2001
