16 Of the total number of tourist guides performing cross-border tourist services on a temporary basis from 2008-2019, 9.69% of them were hosted in Croatia. Croatia is among the top five host countries, after Italy and Lithuania, where tourist guides from other EU MS provide tourist services on a temporary basis (mostly with the qualifications obtained in Slovenia). It only prescribes the fulfilment of the conditions for the resognition of their personal qualifications. 58 General rules on the recognition of professional qualifications of the providers of tourism services laid down in the Act on the Regulated Professions and the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications (hereinafter: Act on the Regulated Professions) are harmonised with the EU law on the recognition of foreign professional qualifications.
