For its smooth operation, and in the fulfilment of its scope of works, the Ministry operates with various specialised divisions of labour or several specific units. While these units have been adjusted, and/or new units added, they have generally included the following – in alphabetical order: (1) Administration; (2) Advertising; (3) Collaterals and Merchandising; (4) Cruise; (5) Domestic Tourism/Eco‑Tourism; (6) Film Commission; (7) Finance; (8) Groups; (9) Hotel Licensing; (10) Industry Training; (11) Marketing; (12) Out Island Marketing Department; (13) People‑to‑People; (14) Planning and Information Management; (15) Product Development; (16) Public Relations (Off‑Shore & On‑Shore); (17) Reception Service; (18) Sales; (19) Special Markets; and (20) Visitor Relations. Private Sector Cooperation The Ministry also provides support, advice, training and financial support through the promotion of the hotel industry, and has a close and productive relationship with the private sector. The relationship with the industry’s private sector actually started under the Development Board, in 1952, when The Bahamas Hotel Association was established.Today, this Association, renamed The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association, remains the official organisation
