La Protección Jurídica del Turista Extranjero en Chile 667 It is through Labour, Sanitary, Environmental and Maritime Law that there are approaches to Tourism Law, but only as a minor phenomenon of those regulated by Law and not proportional to its global importance in the sustainable development of nations. Ideally, it is in the Chilean Consumer Protection Law, that the sector’s treatment of the subjects is dealt with. The Law that establishes rules on the protection of the consumers’ rights, in Chile, deals directly and indirectly with consumer issues – tourists linked to their protection, for example, the use of the real estate for tourism. That is why this report, using the perspective of the protection of foreign tourists, aims to show a summary of the norms that give an account of an incipient Tourism Law in Chile.
