Moreover, as pool attendants, they could also be provided with first aid courses. VIII. PROVIDING EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES TO DISABLED PERSONS IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY Article 15 (8) of The Persons with Disability Act (Employment) 20 refers to the fact that any employer who employs more than 20 persons must also employ a quota of persons who are registered as disabled. This quota is established as 2% in the Standard Percentage of Employment of Persons with Disability Order 21 . In linewithArticle 16 (5A) ofThe PersonswithDisabilityAct (Employment) 22 , should an employer fail to ensure that this quota is met, the Jobsplus 23 shall ask the employer to “make an annual contribution of two thousand and four hundred euro (€2,400) for every person with disability that should be in his employment, to a maximum of ten thousand euro (€10,000) for any one person who so fails to respect the quota”. Article 16 stipulates that this quota may be (increased or) reduced should the Minister responsible for Labour provide a special permission “ owing to its distinctive characteristics as respects its suitability for persons with disability” (Article 16 (3).
