which the sanctions provided for in Decree 835/1972 are updated 8 , as well as Royal Decree 799/1989, of 30 June, amending Article 107 of Decree 835/1972, in order to adapt the regulation of the Registers of Inputs and Outputs of products derived from grapes to community regulations 9 , and Royal Decree 322/2000, of 3 March, by which the amounts established in section 2 of Article 131 of the Law 25/1970 are modified 10 . All these regulations have been repealed after the promulgation of Law 24/2003, of 10 July, of the Vine and Wine 11 . It must be considered that wine is intensely associated with Spanish culture, which is reflected in the Statement of Motives of Law 24/2003, by pointing out the relationship of humans with wine through different historical periods, in Egypt, Greece and Rome, in which we can find the image of a man with a jug of wine, representative of the different cultures, thus establishing the link between mankind and the vine. However, the social connotation of wine has always been reflected in different manifestations of life, but the legal sphere came to regulate different aspects when wine was related to health problems and the first prohibition and regulation of production, marketing and consumption norms were promulgated. The legislation that has wine as its scope of application dates back to the 17 th century, for the regulation of campaigns, and later, the regulation of wine quality standards of took place. The aforementioned Statement of Motives of Law 24/2003 specifies the origins, tracing back to Royal Order of 23 February 1890, and the subsequent Royal Decree of 7 January 1897, both rules referring to the production of wines. During the 19 th century, regulations on foreign trade were promulgated, one of them being Royal Decree of 21 of August of 1888, indicating that the Government would establish enotechnical stations in Paris, London and Hamburg to promote, assist and facilitate the trade of Spanish wines.
