REGULATION OF ORGANIC WINE IN THE EUROPEAN UNION 227 article 24, may be employed to obtain products from the wine sector 32 , including during oenological practices, processes and treatments, following the conditions and restrictions established in Regulation (EU) 1308/2013 and Regulation (EC) 606/2009 – in particular, its Annex I A. Notwithstanding the comments in the previous paragraphs and the particular prohibitions and restrictions, only oenological practices, processes and treatments will be allowed, including the restrictions provided for in articles 80 (“oenological practices and methods of analysis”) and 83 (“national rules for certain products and sectors”), section 2 of Tittle II, Chapter I (“designations of origin, geographical indications and traditional terms in the wine sector”) of Regulation (EU) 1308/2013, in articles 3 (“authorised oenological practices and restrictions”), 5-9 (practices applicable to sparkling wines, liqueur wines, blendings, …) and 11-14 (on alcoholic strength, administrative rules on acidification and de-acidification, pouring of wine into lees, grape marc, pressed pulp, …) of Regulation (EC) 606/2009; as well as in the annexes of said Regulations, used before 1 August 2010. In any case, the use of the following oenological practices, processes and treatments is prohibited: a) partial concentration by cold, in accordance with Annex VIII, part I, section B.1, letter c), of Regulation (EU) 1308/2013; b) removal of sulfur dioxide by physical procedures, in accordance with Annex I A, point 8, of Regulation (EC) 606/2009; c) electrodialysis treatment for the tartaric stabilisation of wine, in accordance with Annex I A, point 36, of Regulation (EC) 606/2009; d) partial dealcoholisation of wine, in accordance with Annex IA, point 40, of Regulation (EC) 606/2009; and e) treatment with cation exchangers for the tartaric stabilisation of wine, in accordance with Annex I A, point 43, of Regulation (EC) 606/2009. On the contrary, the use of the following oenological practices, processes and treatments is authorised, with the following conditions: a) heat treatments, in accordance with Annex I A, point 2, of Regulation (EC) 606/2009, provided that the temperature does not exceed 75 °C; and b) centrifugation and filtration, with or without inert filter aid, in accordance with Annex I A, point 3, of Regulation (EC) 606/2009, provided that the pore size is not less than 0.2 microns. 32 Article 24 refers to the specific rules applicable to official controls and the measures adopted by the competent authorities concerning plant protection products.
