232 WINE LAW In the indication of the place where the agricultural raw materials of which the product is composed were obtained, the small quantities by weight of ingredients may not be taken into account, as long as the total quantity of the not considered ingredients does not exceed 5% of the total amount by weight of agricultural raw materials. The indications “EU” and “non-EU” will not appear in colour, size or typeface that stand out from the product’s name. Moreover, the EU organic production logo may be used in the labelling, presentation and advertising of products that comply with the provisions of this standard. It may also be used for informational and educational purposes related to the existence and publicity of the logo itself, provided that such use cannot mislead the consumer as regards the organic production of specific products and provided that the logo is reproduced following the standards set out in Annex V 37 . The logo will follow the model that appears in Annex V and conform to the thereupon established rules. Finally, national logos and private logos may be used in the labelling, presentation and advertising of products that comply with the provisions of the Regulation. 4.6. Certification Before marketing any product as “organic” or “in-conversion” or before the conversion period, operators and groups of operators that produce, prepare, distribute or store organic or in-conversion products, who market such products (including import from or export to a third country), shall notify their activity to the competent authorities of the Member State in which the activity is carried out and in which their company is subject to the control system. When the competent authorities have conferred their responsibilities or delegated certain official control tasks or tasks related to other official activities to more than one control authority or control body, the operators or groups of operators shall indicate in the notification which control authority or control body verifies if the activity complies with the provisions of the Regulation and grants the certificate. Fernández (2016) comments that the requirements of independent certification bodies vary from one country to another.
