As well, Law Number 26.870 declares Argentine wine as a national drink and for this purpose the National Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries authority promotes action plans that meet the following objectives: a. To disseminate the cultural characteristics involved in the production, elaboration and consumption of Argentine wine and its traditions, b. To promote the image and isologue of Argentine wine in all kinds of official events in the country and abroad, c. Establish that the isologue of Argentine wine as a national beverage or its equivalent text be incorporated in the label of the nationally produced wine. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, through the National Institute of Wine Industry, will establish the criteria and conditions for the use of the isologue or its equivalent text, d. Promote the development of regional economies through actions related to service activities linked to the wine sector, e. Ensure the presence of Argentine wine in official events of the diplomatic and consular agents, f. Promote studies and organisations aimed at defining the different wine regions and sub-regions of each Province. III. Geographic Environment Since the arrival of the vine in America, up to now 8 , the area dedicated to its production has grown remarkably and in a surprising way. Today, there are not just generic or cut varieties, but also many strains with differing features. The characteristic of the variety or the generic does not influence the quality of the wine, what makes the quality change are the features of the strains and the elaboration, aging and storage process. Argentina Republic, located at the southern edge of South America, has a territorial extension of 2,766,889 km2 and a very varied relief.
