The applicability of horizontal rules was provided for by article 118, stipulating that, save as otherwise provided for in the Regulation, Council Directive 89/396/EEC, Directive 2000/13/EC, Directive 2007/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, Directive 2008/95/EC and Regulation 1169/2011 43 applied to the labelling and presentation.
